Perhaps a lot of big-name entertainers volunteer their time for worthy causes. We wouldn't know, because we don't know very many big-name stars. But we know enough about Sheryl Crow, a Kennett, Mo., native who is a seven-time Grammy winner, to know that she has volunteered again and again to give performances that are used to raise money for worthy causes.

That's exactly what Crow is doing Dec. 2, when the singer-songwriter will perform at the Show Me Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. The university, KFVS TV-12, Zimmer Radio Group and the Southeast Missourian are sponsoring the concert.

The concert is expected to raise as much as $100,000 for scholarships for students at the Kennett Higher Education Center and the university's planned River Campus for the Visual and Performing Arts in Cape Girardeau.

This isn't the first time Crow has helped her hometown. Last year a benefit performance raised more than $25,000.

Here's an opportunity to see and hear a big-name entertainer up close. And you'll be helping two great causes at the same time.
