There are so many reasons I love teaching at Scott County Central School. I know the obvious one is that Scott County Central has an awesome basketball team and has won so many state championships. Being an avid basketball fan, I will admit this has been a major joy during my teaching career at this school.
However, there are other reasons for my delight in being a part of this school system. We have a sixth-grade group associated with the junior high band program, in addition to the high school band, that is so talented and so wonderful to listen to. The musicians take great pride in their playing, but much of the credit goes to their band director, Mr. Probst, who has the ability to bring out this talent and display it for all of us to enjoy.
Along with the band program, we have a young woman, Semona Penrod, who has put together a group of singers from fourth through sixth grade, and their vocal selections keep your foot patting the floor and a smile on your face. These young students have fund. They are enthusiastic. And one can tell they enjoy performing. Again, much of the credit goes to their musical director, Ms. Penrod.
Scott County Central has such a variety of talents, and the faculty and staff have the unique ability to display this talent for all of us to enjoy. Congratulations to all of these students and teachers who make this school such a delight to be a part of.
