I see that the GOP is ready to enact a ‘Right to Work’ law. I find it rather hypocritical that the GOP wants to pass a law that puts more regulations on a group of people whom the majority voted to form a union. More regulations and denying self-rule, isn’t that two of the things that the GOP is suppose to oppose?...

I see that the GOP is ready to enact a ‘Right to Work’ law. I find it rather hypocritical that the GOP wants to pass a law that puts more regulations on a group of people whom the majority voted to form a union. More regulations and denying self-rule, isn’t that two of the things that the GOP is suppose to oppose?

They argue that ‘Right to Work’ will make unions more responsive to its members. Using their argument I hope they also pass a “Right to Live’ law. Even though I choose to live in Missouri I should be able to withhold my dues (taxes) if I disagree with what my legislators want to do. Of course I still want to use the streets and highways, have police protection, and have the fire department ready if I need them. I just don’t want to pay for it. Some would call that welfare, getting services for free. Isn’t that another thing the GOP opposes?

If ‘Right to Work’ would be good for unions then ‘Right to Live’ ought to be great for Missouri.
