To the editor:
I recently heard about House Concurrent Resolution 12 which deals with making Christianity the majority religion of Missouri. I just wanted to say how disgusted I am that the Missouri Legislature is wasting its time on such pointless nonsense when there are real issues to tackle such as poverty, high unemployment and an increased number of individuals who are being denied Medicaid coverage.
It is my understanding that the point of this resolution is to protect the majority's right to express their religious beliefs. I wish that those who proclaim to be so Christian and so religious would spend more time devoting their efforts toward helping those like Christ helped and doing the kind of work that aids those less fortunate. It appears that the sanctimonious are too concerned with protecting the majority's rights.
