Other holidays no less worthy

To the editor:

To the commentator who said it's "Merry Christmas," not "Happy Holidays": What do you say to the Jews celebrating Hanukkah? Or to those celebrating Kwanzaa? Or to those who celebrate the winter solstice? The fact that you don't celebrate their holidays doesn't make your holiday more worthy of recognition in the vernacular. In fact, the date of Dec. 25 was chosen because the pagans were celebrating the birth of Mithras at the same time. So, merry Christmas, happy belated Hanukkah, happy Kwanzaa, spectacular solstice and merry Mithras to all, and to all a good night.
