The "needs" I have heard of are already being addressed by other private or governmental agencies.

I fear if a tax is put into place, contributions to charitable organizations will decrease. Citizens will rationalize that the need is being served by a "tax."

The federal government has started talking about additional fuel taxes (C-Span Congressional hearing this past week) not to mention the Obamacare tax.

Speaking of taxes, our state tax equals 4.225 percent; county equals 1 percent; and city of Jackson equals 2.0 percent for a total of 7.22 percent.

I realize the 0.25 percent for Prop. K is minimal. Compare it to county. Twenty-five percent increase!

Then consider the 0.75 percent for some other issue. Compare the total to county.

Presto! Then we have 100 percent of county.

Let the county know how you feel. Vote "no" on Prop K.
