The movie, "2016: Obama's America," is coming to Cape West 14 Cine in Cape Girardeau on Friday for seven daily showings starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- and then five daily showings the following Monday through Friday.

I saw the first (not final) cut about five weeks ago, and since it's gone public, it's receiving much discussion.

This is a one-hour 27 minute informative documentary about President Obama and his background. It includes an interview with Obama's brother in Kenya and much of his background, which will help you understand the possible motivations of many of his actions.

Produced by Gerald Molen, the producer behind the Academy Award Best Picture "Schindler's List" and other top movies and basically narrated by author Dinesh D'Souza, I recommend you see it to better understand the formative years of our current president.

For all of the over-reporting on many elected political officials or candidates in the St. Louis media area, one gentleman has managed to be at the center or close to it with little public scrutiny. I've run into many news releases from different liberal organizations (some located in the same building on Pershing Street) criticizing opposing views or promoting liberal causes.

Though I don't know him, I have to respect John Hickey's persistence and effectiveness in causes he believes in and his ability to stay below public scrutiny by the media.

About two years ago Hickey became the Missouri chapter director of the Sierra Club.

His resume includes the following:

1, 1979-1990: Head organizer ACORN, 201-500 employees.

2, 1990-1991: Organizer for local 6355 -- Communications Workers of America, local for Workers at the Missouri Department of Social Services.

3, 1992-2008: Missouri "Progressive" Vote Coalition.

4, 2003-2007: Board member U.S. Action: Political Organization Industry.

5, 2008-2009: National Program Director for Women's Voice, Women's Vote; WVWV registered more than 900,000 women during the 2008 election cycle, focusing in particular on unmarried women.

6, March 2010-September 2010: Service Employees International Union (SEIU), 1,001-5,000 employees, Political Organization Industry.

7, Nov. 2010-present: Chapter director, Sierra Club (last we heard).

If anyone in the St. Louis media has done a major story on the many related activities of Hickey, I've missed it and apologize in advance.
