If Bill Clinton was the first black president then Barack Obama is the first Hispanic president.

From all indications, President Obama is on the verge of issuing some extended form of amnesty for unknown numbers of illegal immigrants who have flooded across our southern border.

By taking this unilateral step, this president is hoping to change the political discussion leading to the all-important November elections. He also hopes to solidify the Democratic party's historic support from the Hispanic community.

But more importantly, I believe this president is inviting the House to vote on articles of impeachment. That would allow him and his cohorts to brand Republicans as radical racists whose only opposition stems from the color of his skin and not his massively flawed progressive agenda.

A country without borders is no longer a country. To welcome with open arms this tsunami of largely uneducated, dependent, non-English speaking newcomers is an open invitation to a non-ending flood of more central American and Mexican immigrants.

To calculate the cost -- and not just the financial aspect -- is beyond our current knowledge. But you can be assured, this new population will fall woefully short of "paying their own way" in American society.

I think it's past time that someone should ask the president exactly what he meant by his "fundamental transformation" philosophy for this once-great nation.

That seems appropriate for the highest elected office in this country to outline specifically what he hopes to accomplish that will transform this country into the vision that apparently only he can see.

We've already seen the most secretive administration in history despite the pledge of transparency.

We've seen the implementation of a federal health-care system that has thus far failed to produce results on one single promise from cost savings to easier health access.

We've seen his use of federal agencies -- the IRS comes to mind -- to attack his opponents in an unprecedented abuse of power.

We've seen his blundering foreign policy take this nation away from our leading role in the world and reduce us to a nation no longer true to its word.

We've seen a massive increase in racial polarization when among his first promises was to bridge that growing gap.

And now, we've seen him eliminate the sovereign borders in a way that will truly transform this country in the most fundamental way possible.

Talk of impeachment is a political distraction at the worst time possible. But the White House knows that the impeachment option is about the only road available for those who truly believe this president has extended his overreach much too far this time.

I'm not certain how history will treat this time in our country. I strongly suspect it will not be written as the shining star that many believed.

But this much I do know. Without a fawning, compliant national media, the disasters of the past six years would not have occurred.

It may just be a minor footnote in history, but the day when the national media abandoned their values and assisted this administration will be discussed for generations to come.
