To the editor:

On behalf of all Adult Basic Education teachers and literacy students, I want to express my sincerest appreciation to the entire YELL committee for the $1,500 grant awarded to the Adult Basic Education program at the Cape Girardeau Area Vocational-Technical School. As stated in the grant application, the money will be used to purchase a computer with voice capabilities in order to allow adult literacy students the opportunity to incorporate both auditory and visual learning using state-of-the-art, adult-oriented software.

The generosity of the YELL committee will have an extremely positive impact upon the 500-plus adult literacy students that we expect to serve during fiscal year 1996.
