I am writing this to raise the alarm. A small but vocal minority is trying to stop construction of the memorial. This minority feels the memorial doesn't deserve a place of honor on the Mall in Washington, D.C.

Please join me in sending letters to the National Capital Planning Commission. The address is 401 Ninth St. NW, North Lobby-Suite 500, Washington, D.C. 20576. The e-mail address is info@ncpc.gov. Encourage the NCPC to start construction of the memorial at once.

We can also contact our federal legislators. With luck, a few of the veterans may get to visit the memorial in their honor.
