To the editor: History shows that the blood of citizens was sacrificed to bring power to the country and its leaders. If we look at those leaders and the battles, has there been a real appreciation for the sacrifices made on their behalf? Maybe not...

To the editor:

History shows that the blood of citizens was sacrificed to bring power to the country and its leaders. If we look at those leaders and the battles, has there been a real appreciation for the sacrifices made on their behalf? Maybe not.

However, when the powerful leaders use their power to maintain the status quo, there is an element of deception often used, and the powerful succeed in their devious ways.

Politicians are skillful in using the art of misinformation and deception to bring about the need for maintaining their power bases or to gain a new one. The need to control the money people earn gives power to the politicians. And power is what is most important to them.

Readers of your paper express their views. Too many use the paper to say that they too have been duped by the powermongers.

When truth is available, why settle for the unreal and the untruthful?
