LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: YOUNG COLUMBUS OPENED UP IRELAND

Dear Southeast Missourian,

I would like to say a big "thank-you" for all your efforts in making the Young Columbus program a big success in this area. The Young Columbus program is the best educational and cultural opportunity for younger ages I have ever seen. You made it possible for me to go to Europe, an opportunity I would otherwise have never had. The experience I gained will never be equaled.

Not only did I get a chance to meet new wonderful Americans, but I also had the opportunity to spend 10 days in an Irish world. I have never felt so welcome anywhere. On the practical side, I also learned about the country's rich history and will hopefully apply it to a research paper.

The experience you have given me is priceless. I encourage the continuation of the Young Columbus program at the Southeast Missourian. If there is any way I could ever be of assistance with this program, please let me know.
