To the editor:

Tuesday, Dec. 7, was a wonderful day for the Pearl Harbor services held on the river at the foot of Broadway. On behalf of American Legion Post 63, we wish to thank the following for furnishing support systems in order for this to be held: Shivelbine's music store (speaker system); Downtown Merchants Association (electric hookups); Vocational School (welding the bell stand); Legion Auxiliary (making of the wreath); Radio K-103 (advertising); KFVS (for showing the event); and the Southeast Missourian (for their usual good coverage). Of course, enough cannot be said for Lieutenant Commander and Petty Officer Watt and all other personnel from U.S. Navel Reserve Center here in Cape. Everything went as planned and timed. However, there was one goof and I will personally take the blame. I wish to apologize to State Senator Peter Kinder for failure to introduce him. Thanks Senator for attending. You've always been on our side.
