To the Editor:
Yes, here we go again - The Yes Group will continue to promote the business of riverboat gaming! And yes it will obiviously bring many jobs and much revenue to the city of Cape Girardeau.
These facts, (not claims made by the Yes Group), should not be confused with the so called "facts" in the Letter to the Editor on Sunday by Jana Jateff. Ms. Jateff must be confusing illegal gambling with legal riverboat gaming. To say that legal riverboat gaming will bring in "more crime, gambling addictions, drugs and alcohol" is, to say the least, misleading to the voters. Ms. Jateff also implied that the Boyd Group had written the Letter to the Editor in response to Dr. Martin. This too is totally inaccurate. The only thing in her letter that may be called a fact regarding riverboat gaming, is that it would create more traffic; more traffic resulting from more tourist spending more money in our city.
The economic benifits will be tremendous. Please know the real facts and vote YES on Nov. 2.
