To the editor:
The Republican branch of the FDR Party (the Franklin Democrat Republican Party) has chosen its candidates for president and vice president. It has selected an oil man for president and an oil man for vice president. I imagine gas will be cheap at election time.
We are waiting to find out which FDR programs will be cast into the limelight first. The Republican branch has a jump on the Democratic branch. Since the Democrats have not held their convention yet, they will have to settle for FDR leftovers. We do know that the Republican branch favors free trade as long as it is controlled, and the Democrat branch believes in controlled trade as long as it is not called free.
Al Gore will be the Democratic choice for president, but we await the choice for vice president. Americans sit on the edge of their seats to find out if the vice-presidential choice will be a heavy tea drinker like Gore. If so, the Democrats may never get a budget together, because every time money is brought up they will have to run to the bathroom.
