To the editor:

I would like to thank my supporters and citizens of the 160th District for the opportunity to serve as your state representative for the past four years. We have made great progress in our community lately, and it is important that we keep that momentum. There was crucial state funding being considered for our district which may not be in jeopardy if our community as a whole does not rally around our new representative and provide him with much-needed support.

To the many people who urged me to answer the negative attack against me and return fire in this past election, I want you to understand why I chose not to do that. The allegations levied against me were false, some being the same distortions hurled at me two years ago, which were proved wrong back then. The thought of having to wallow in a negative campaign, as I have had to do in the previous two elections, was simply more than I was willing to do. If I let some supporters down in this regard, please know that I do not regret my decision.

The opportunities offered to me in the past few weeks have been numerous and overwhelming. I owe these to you, the people of the 160th District.
