After finishing the Tiger Showcase Basketball Shootout last Saturday, I felt this would be an appropriate time to extend my appreciation to the Central High School athletic parents, alumni, All-School Booster Club and local businesses for their assistance in making Central High School a place where students can participate and compete in many athletic events with pride. These events include the annual cross-country invitational, girls junior varsity basketball tournament, Tiger Classic wrestling tournament, Tiger Showcase basketball shootout, Big 8 baseball tournament, Cape Relays track invitational, Tiger Hall of Fame, Kickoff Classic soccer tournament and many more.

Our school has received many complimentary remarks from visiting parents, coaches, officials and administrators from other schools not only in Missouri, but Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee on the hospitality directed toward them. These remarks could not have been possible without the assistance of the groups already mentioned. Their assistance has been a positive feature of what Cape Girardeau schools represent.

Again, I want to extend my appreciation for the assistance in making Central High School a place where young men and women can compete in athletic events and be very proud of their school. As I have always stated, I work with great students, great parents, in a great school, in a great city.
