To the editor:
The administration at Jackson High School has scheduled back-to-school night on Tuesday. The Jackson School Board meetings are always the second Tuesday of each month. In September this happens to be this Tuesday. Why wouldn't these meetings be scheduled to accommodate citizens who would want to attend both events?
Is this scheduling conflict because of incompetence on the part of the high school administration? Are they simply inconsiderate? Are the schedulers being arrogant? I say all three.
On Tuesday, a group of concerned clergy and citizens of the Jackson School District are planning to attend the school board meeting. Does the district have so little respect for these people and anyone else who would want the chance to attend both meetings that it wouldn't reschedule back-to-school night at Jackson High School? Or is this an attempt to keep the crowd numbers down at the board meeting?
How can the people the school board represents stay informed on school issues if events are scheduled in a conflicting manner?
