To the editor:

On Saturday, Nov. 19, Plaza Tire Service on William Street was involved in a major fire that resulted in a loss of 30 percent of our warehouse and significant damage to the balance of our operation. While the fire caused major damage to our buildings and property, it could have been much worse were it not for the outstanding efforts and assistance from the Cape Girardeau and area fire departments along with assistance from the Cape Girardeau Police Department and Cape County Private Ambulance Service. We want to pass on to these key public servants our sincere thanks and appreciation for a job well done.

We also want to thank individuals and businesses in the community that provided invaluable support during this crisis. We apologize in advance if we leave out anyone, but we want to list those that came to our aid: Salvation Army, Cape Girardeau firefighters and police, firefighters auxiliary, area restaurants that provided food and drinks, and, last but certainly not least, the employees, families and friends of Plaza Tire Service. We are proud to live and have our business in this community. Thank you again for all the support and assistance.
