To the editor:
There are many good ways to support schools. For me there has been another method that I think has had the greatest impact, and that is Moms in Touch.
Moms in Touch International is a Christian prayer ministry that has been active in the area for at least nine years. It has groups of two or more moms who meet for one hour each week to pray for their children, their school, teachers, staff and administrators. Any other interested women are welcome too. In our area, there are 12 groups: Cape Christian, Central Junior High, Central Senior High, Clippard Elementary, Trinity Lutheran, two college groups, Jackson Mixed, Jackson Senior High, St. Paul Lutheran, Nell Holcomb and an Early Risers group for employed moms. All of these groups extend an invitation to any interested moms to join them.
The goal of Moms in Touch is that by 2003 every U.S. school will have a group of moms praying for it. I would be happy to assist in organizing new groups, training leaders and helping interested moms connect with existing groups. If you are a mom who believes that prayer makes a difference and would like more information, please call me at 335-2038.
