Someone said, "You have not lived if you have not touched the life of someone and left an impression that brought forth fruit." Such was the life of Larry Niswonger, who recently went on to be with the Lord.

I met Larry soon after buying my first guitar. We both shared a love for music and became good friends. Larry encouraged me very early in my musical efforts and gave me the opportunity to use the talent God had given me. Larry made possible my first trip to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Larry and I enjoyed a performance by the great Patsy Cline at radio station WSM only to come home and read in the paper of her fatal accident following that performance. We learned that not even superstars are immortal.

Larry and I played music with many musicians in the 1960s and early 1970s, too many to mention. I am sure if they were still with us, and those who still are, they would say that Larry Niswonger touched their lives and that his music left an impression that has brought forth fruit.

In recent days, when Larry and I would cross paths, our conversation was always about the Lord coming soon. Larry was ready and looking forward to that great and glory-filled day, as am I.
