To the editor: Many people are quick to turn to the obituary page of the newspaper. Sometimes I find myself doing that also. In the April 7 issue, I was impressed and curious, as well as pleased, to see a number of symbols of the flag by several obituaries. I was so delighted when I read of the suggestion by the American Legion in Jackson of doing that...

In the April 7 issue, I was impressed and curious, as well as pleased, to see a number of symbols of the flag by several obituaries. I was so delighted when I read of the suggestion by the American Legion in Jackson of doing that.

I consider that as one of the finest means yet in commemorating all the fine citizens who so courageously and willingly sacrificed their lives for our country. No greater an honor could we bestow on them.

Memorial Day is approaching once again when a flag is placed at each veteran's resting place. Wouldn't it be nice to honor them not only on this day, but for every day by placing a small flag by each grave to remain permanently in honor of their bravery and love for their country?
