To the editor:
I would like to inform Mr. Berryhill that there are many readers of Mr. Miller's "overindulgence of big words and overzealous rantings" who thoroughly enjoy his beliefs and who understand where he is coming from.
I do not know Mr. Miller. I would like to neighbor with him, but don't try to make me believe he wasn't a smart student or that he's missing a great deal of enjoyment in his life. Mr. Miller is a free thinker (a person who forms opinions about religion on the basis of reason, independently of tradition, authority or established belief).
I don't have to go to school or neighbor with him to know what he believes. He's capable of presenting his strong beliefs, contrary to many, without insulting those with opposite views on religion. There are tens of millions of us non-believers who applaud his ability to do so.
Although we're outnumbered greatly, it does not take from us our right to peaceably protest what we believe is unjust.
I also read the letter, "Apology from one pesky Christian." Rev. Gillard needs to count his church attendees, and if 12 percent aren't black, he should offer his apology to those missing or uninvited, then give us honorable mention.
