To the editor:
Recently I wrote a letter (below) to U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson. I did not support Mrs. Emerson in the last election, because I am a Libertarian and because I was unsure if she was qualified for the job. I had been a supporter of Bill Emerson since moving to Cape Girardeau.
After reading Mrs. Emerson's April 13 commentary about HR 901, I because a supporter. If she holds this opinion on this issue, I'm sure she is of similar mindset on other issues involving U.S. sovereignty. She has convinced me that she is a stalwart proponent of America's interests over those who would lead up into a one-world government.
I pray that she can convince her colleagues in the House to pass this legislation, and I hope she continues to question the actions and motives of the United Nations.
Here is the letter I sent to Mrs. Emerson.
The Honorable Jo Ann Emerson,
Mrs. Emerson, I am writing to express my appreciation for your co-sponsorship of HR 901, the American Land Sovereignty Protection Act. I read your April 13 article in the Southeast Missourian and was greatly impressed by your insight into this matter.
I was very excited to learn of this proposed legislation, because I have long been concerned about the United Nations' involvement in America's internal affairs. Your support of HR 901 has gained you a new supporter here in the 8th District.
I consider myself a patriot, and I deeply object to the United States' support of the United Nations. This entity seeks complete control over the people and resource of this planet. I encourage you to continue to question and challenge our involvement with this organization seeking to destroy America and the sovereign rights of Americans. I assure you that there are many others here in the heartland who will strongly support any and all efforts to reduce the UN's power and influence.
