Even though I might not carry, there are a lot of people who would apply who work in bad sections of town, who work at night or who generally need the extra protection that a gun would afford...

To the editor:

About 85 percent of the population of the United States has the right to carry a concealed weapon. Only seven states, Missouri being one, do not allow their own citizens to carry. Even though I might not carry, there are a lot of people who would apply who work in bad sections of town, who work at night or who generally need the extra protection that a gun would afford.

We cannot deprive them of that right of their own self-defense. Besides, I like the idea of the bad guys out there not knowing who is and who isn't. It sheds new light on their predatory instincts.
