To the editor:

As pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church ELCA, I find it sad that in the three years I have been here I have had to read articles addressed to the editor from the Rev. David V. Dissen about decisions made by our Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I wonder why he has not written to me or invited me to debate with him about these issues which can bring us closer together as brothers and sisters in the whole body of Christ. Why does he feel a need to publish his remarks against our church body in the newspaper?

I would invite Rev. Dissen to come worship with us and to find the joy of celebrating the good news of Jesus Christ surrounded by people who do not always agree. We know Jesus loves us in spite of our differences, a foreshadowing of the feast to come in heaven for all believers.
