To the editor:
Over the years, Congressman Bill Emerson has been so helpful to me. Although I never met him personally, I felt I knew him well.
When my father died in a nursing home which ordered supplies (on his name) nearly a month after he had died, Bill Emerson made them make it right. When I needed advice on my mother's passing, Bill was there.
Within the last year my husband lost his job of 15 1/2 years. Again, Bill Emerson was in contact with us by letter doing what he could for my family.

Missouri will have another 8th District congressman, but there will never be one who cared more about the people he served than Bill.
God bless and give peace to his family is my prayer.
Rest well, Congressman Bill Emerson. You have fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith.
