To the Editor:The aftermath of the recent storm caused considerable damage to many homes and trees. In my case, a large limb was broken off one tree and several limbs from other trees and some were on the roof.
When I started to remove the large limbs from the driveway, my neighbor Frank Emmendorfer came over with his chain saw and cut the tree up so we could handle it.
The next thing, Dr. Joseph and Charlene Miller and their two boys were raking and picking up small limbs. Then Mike and Mary Moyers and their three children were raking and picking up limbs and cleaning up.
Within two hours, all of the debris was in a pile at the curb and my yard was so clean with the exception of the pile of brush. You would not have know that a storm had even occurred.
We are 82, and it would have been hard for us to do this. This was an act of kindness and love for people. Without friends and good neighbors, what would we do.
