To the Editor:
I was amazed when I read your paper the other day and saw that the results of a bad auto accident were going to be shown on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. Some person -- who is not an "artist" under even the most liberal and loosest definition of that word -- has pulled off the joke of the century on the local college folks.
There will be a display of a wrecked car on the campus which us rednecks are supposed to believe is "art." This is one hillbilly that sees the shame of using our tax dollars to support this kind of nonsense. I wonder if the prosecutor has checked to see whether SEMO has a junkyard permit.
Come to think of it, what is even more amazing than a junkyard on a beautiful campus is that the Missourian was wondering the other day why voters turn down tax increases for schools. Don't take no genius to figger that one out.
