I hope many of you had the opportunity to meet Larry Bill at the fair this past week. He and several volunteers manned a booth inside the Arena Building for the week. That's the way Larry has campaigned -- up close and personal. I couldn't even guess has many miles Larry has walked this past year getting to know the people of the 8th District. He wanted to know what issues most concerned the people. The only real way to do that is by spending time with them. He has spent his own money to finance his campaign so that he is only beholden to the people of the 8th District. Others may have fancy advertising paid with money from outside the district, but that doesn't make them in touch with our district. Actually, it makes them in touch with lobbyists and party power brokers. Larry's way of campaigning is harder, but I prefer it.
