Over one-and-a-half years ago (December 2010), I gave a letter to the county commissioners with 11 questions, hoping for a reply, concerning cost and the county's need for a second, or should I say a third, courthouse in Cape Girardeau. Maybe I did not deserve a reply or perhaps the questions were just too simple to answer. But on the poll of more than 450 voters, an overwhelming number said no, don't buy it; county offices belong in Jackson.

Commissioners, please, get out and tell the taxpayers your thoughts on why you want this. Just remember that the Southeast Missourian, KFVS12 and the old federal building are all on the same 300 block of Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
