City tax issues should be of great concern to all of us who reside in Cape Girardeau. It does not matter if you are in favor or against this sales-tax increase the city is asking for. What does matter is that registered voters take the time and get to our polling places and vote. It's easy to express your opinion concerning this proposal, but if you don't vote you should not complain when the issue fails or passes.

Please, folks, exercise your right to vote. Don't sit at home and become one of the majority who are registered voters who gripe but don't vote. It's your right. Most of all, it's your duty.
