As our independent campaign for Congress continues, we plan to present solutions for problems it is in Congress's power to correct. One impending problem we will have is hyperinflation similar to what we experienced in the 1970s. While working my way through college in grocery stores in Jackson and Cape, I can remember every week pulling cans off the shelf and raising prices 3-4 cents per can. Because the Federal Reserve has more than doubled the world money supply in the last two years, once the economy recovers, prices for goods will skyrocket. Congress must repay federal debt to the Federal Reserve to get these extra dollars out of the economy. Program eliminations I would recommend would be stopping funding for the Essential Air Service, National Endowment for the Arts, the Congressional Hunger Fund, and stopping earmarks for non-transportation projects like the $1.6 million bicycle bridge in Cape Girardeau, among others.
