Southeast Missouri State University will welcome thousands of graduates back to campus this weekend to celebrate tradition and the future of the university.
Homecoming is a major undertaking. Activities started earlier in the week and kick into high gear tonight when Academic Hall is reopened with a 5:30 p.m. ceremony followed by public tours from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Academic has been closed for two years for a major renovation. Many graduates have memories of the facility -- more than 100 years old -- with the shining dome that is part of the city's skyline. Like many of you, we're looking forward to seeing the inside.
Among the festivities to take place in the coming days are a Copper Dome reception in Academic Hall at 7 p.m. Friday, an All Alumni Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Kem Statuary Hall in the Wehking Alumni Center (where several recognitions will take place), and the traditional parade on Saturday morning. There are many other activities, ranging from athletic contests, to student and touring productions, to individual organization functions.

To all the alumni back in town, as well as those who make this area home, we hope you enjoy a wonderful SEMO Homecoming.
