Recently a grassroots citizen group, the Rolla Tea Party, went to a lot of effort to place congressional candidates before the people in an open forum. Republican Bob Parker, Libertarian Rick Vandeven and I (independent) participated in the event. Surprisingly, Jo Ann Emerson and Tommy Sowers, though invited, were not present.

Wanting to hear what plans Emerson and Sowers had for our district and nation, their absence disappointed me. Meanwhile, the three of us bluntly debated issues concerning, among other topics, military involvement overseas, Missouri's nullification of Obamacare, constitutional rights, Social Security insolvency and agricultural subsidies.
