To the editor:
The Jackson School District bond vote Tuesday is such an important issue for our children, grandchildren and community that I hope district voters will take the time to vote yes for our schools.
My dad was the WPA foreman when the football stadium was built in 1938. Mom and Dad somehow were able to send their 12 children through Jackson High School. Our roots are deep in Jackson not only as supporters of school bonds, but also as proud residents of a fast-growing town and school district.
I cannot stress enough the importance of voting yes. Safety and quality facilities are vital to ensure a positive educational experience for our young people. Through the vision of our school board and administration, we each have an opportunity to make a difference and prepare for the future.
For the past 18 months, we have all been subjected to political campaigns and advertising rhetoric that promises to make things better for you. In reality, you have a chance right here in Jackson to do something that will directly affect you positively. By voting yes on this bond issue, you will be able to see where your tax dollars are going and enjoy the benefits of increased property values while giving our young people an opportunity for quality facilities and education they deserve.
Thank you for voting yes next Tuesday.
JACK M. LITZELFELNER Sr., Jackson
