We're so proud and pleased the homes at 214 N. Lorimier and 220 N. Lorimier were recognized as two of Cape Girardeau's original treasures.

As children, we grew up in the home at 220 N. Lorimier with our parents, Emil and Linda Busch, and brother, Gene. After marrying, we lived in the home at 214 N. Lorimier, which also was owned by our parents.

Both homes were great to live in and close to schools, downtown shopping and theaters and were in a good neighborhood. We have a lot of good memories made in our childhood.

The Lorimier Street hill also was great for sledding.

Thanks to Bill and Barbara Port and others for honoring these two homes. And thanks to the Stockards and McGintys for taking such good care of these homes.VIRGINIA BUSCH EVANS
