To the editor:
A previous letter writer stated that his tax dollars should not pay for the gimme generation's prescription drugs. The gimme generation paid tax dollars to support the schools the writer attended. Their tax dollars also kept the doors to the public libraries open. Their tax dollars pay for road maintenance on the state and county roads and bridges. Their tax dollars support the Missouri Conservation Department. This agency provides the writer with a place to hike, hunt and fish.
As an older adult, I no longer use some of these state and county services, but my tax dollars still support them. Why is this? It is called a social contract. The generations support each other.
