Former Commerce mayor positive

To the editor:

I was incensed when I read Matt Sanders' Sept. 21 article on Commerce. He portrayed my mother, Ann Huck, as a skeptic. She is a very positive person and always has been.

Mr. Sanders asked my mother if she thought Commerce would ever recover. She answered, "I don't know. I hope so." Mother is hopeful about the future of Commerce and not a skeptic. After all, she couldn't have been mayor of Commerce for 25 years without having a positive outlook.
