Military retirees with 20 years of service to our nation may not realize it, but they are receiving Tricare For Life without a deduction from their retired pay because of the work Jo Ann Emerson has done on their behalf.

Several years ago, my husband, LTC Lloyd Young (Retired), informed Jo Ann that the federal government, which pledged to provide veterans with 20 years of service health benefits for life, had failed to fulfill its obligations.

Jo Ann listened then worked with her colleagues in the House to pass legislation correcting this injustice. Throughout the process, she called to keep us informed of the legislation's progress.
