To the editor:
On the conceal-carry issue: Let us not forget one important thing. Criminals don't care about permits. I have heard all of the arguments. It is clear to me that states that issue conceal-carry permits have lower cases of violent crime. This is enough reason in itself to have a valid permit system in place. If it saves one life, then it's worth it.
I am not a gun nut. I am an ordinary man with ordinary desires for myself and my family. I work, pay taxes and love my kids and my wife. I would do anything to protect them. I don't want to have to step down to being a criminal to do it.
I carry a spare tire in case I have a flat. I carry a flashlight in case I need to see in the dark. As soon as I legally can, I will carry a firearm in case someone wants to do me or mine harm.
