To the editor:
In response to Monty W. Keesee's letter, I would like to ask where did he find his information concerning the heath/environment after-effects of engaging an operational ethanol plant? Can he please divulge the origins of his research to the unknowing public?
May I remind the public that there is a building contractor in Scott City who has seen fit to construct a subdivision community only a few hundred yards away from a main-line railway. Most people would cringe if they knew what types of explosive, toxic and corrosive chemicals a locomotive pulls.
I will not go into the physics and environmental impacts of an ethanol plant at this moment, nor am I going to moan about the substances that roll down a train track. However, I will state that claims should be supported by facts. I would like to see the facts regarding the operation of a dangerous "corn liquor still" cited by Mr. Keesee.
Please feel free to contact me at ethanoldesigner @yahoo.com for comments and facts regarding the production of ethanol.
