Chaffee native touched by words on grandmother

To the editor:

I was raised in Southeast Missouri. More specifically, I'm a proud Chaffee Red Devil. However, Dallas is where I have resided for nearly 20 years. Home will always be Southeast Missouri.

For Christmas, I give my grandmother, who turns 88 this year, a subscription to the Southeast Missourian. And I keep in touch with my roots by reading the Southeast Missourian online and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity.

Today I had the great pleasure of reading Jon Rust's wonderful prose that honored his grandmother, and I felt compelled to write. His sweet words not only enlighten the world of his grandmother, but also of mine. And for that I thank him.
