CASA NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP YOUNGSTERS

CASA volunteers represent the segment of our society with the smallest voice: children from troubled homes who become entangled in the legal system.

Court Appointed Special Advocates show up for judicial proceedings involving their young clients and provide that voice. They speak to the children and their parents to see what custody arrangement or other living situation will be best. In some cases, they supervise visitation. They may be the only adult who is a constant in their clients' lives.

The program is always searching for volunteers. It isn't easy. The job takes time and is emotionally taxing. But what work is more important than protecting our future generations?

Volunteers must be 21 or older, take 30 hours of training, pass a background check and interviews and commit to taking one case after finishing training. For more information, call 335-1726.
