Cape Girardeau entrepreneur Jack Rickard and Brian Noto, a former editor and writer for an automotive magazine, are organizing the first Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention to be held Sept. 21 to 25 at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.
The convention, which was originally thought to be a gathering of 15 to 20 people, now has 100 people registered with 29 cars, and more than 450 people with 100 cars are expected to sign up, according to Rickard.
The number of people is not the only remarkable aspect of the convention. According to Rickard, more than half of those currently registered are from other countries, including Germany, Australia, Sweden and New Zealand.
In addition to the convention, Rickard and Noto started a webcast video two years ago where they teach those interested how to convert a gas run vehicle into one electrically powered. The webcast has gained popularity and now has 120,000 regular viewers in 13 countries.
We look forward to welcoming the large number of electric car enthusiasts to Cape Girardeau for the convention and are excited about the technological advancements Rickard and Noto are leading.
