To the editor:
Jan. 22 will mark the 35th year for the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Abortions in Missouri are the lowest they've been in 31 years. With this year's election, many expect a lot of changes to take place, which always happens after every election.
Once again, a trip is planned to Washington. I know three buses are going, possibly four if plans come together. I remember when we tried to fill one bus. You have the opportunity to witness the faith of other people from across the country and engage in a truly important struggle for social justice and the basic human right of protection of life at every stage.
I feel we should take the first step in the right direction for those who won't have the blessing of taking their first step.
Bishop James V. Johnston Jr. of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese is going to make the trip.
Kathleen Keesee, president of Voice for Life, is coordinating the trip. You may contact her at 573-334-7298 for more information.
