To the editor:
This letter is in response to the July 29 article regarding Cape Girardeau County Auditor David Ludwig's return to office. Who is Virgie Koeppel trying to kid? She has never hesitated in the past to speak up to or against her boss.
If Mr. Ludwig showed her an offensive collage, why did she not simply move away and report it then? How could either of the deputies see what was on his computer screen when his desk faces away from theirs?
Why would Diane Diebold need to look in Mr. Ludwig's desk for a pen when there were two women sitting there who could have given her one, or she simply could have walked next door to her office to get one? Sounds like deliberate snooping to me.
If you want to get rid of the man, do it for the real reasons.
SAM WALLER, Jackson
