Burner, who began his role as alumni services director in July 2008 following the retirement of Jane Stacy, helped build on the relationships his predecessor cultivated. He was also instrumental in advancing the university's social media presence, among other initiatives. We appreciate his efforts to connect with alumni and foster good communication with many others.

As the foundation goes forward it will be important to find the right person for this job. The alumni services director in many cases serves as the face of the university. Cultivating relationships with the university's friends, alumni and other stakeholders in Southeast Missouri is vital to Southeast Missouri State and its foundation.

We wish Burner well in his new position and look forward to meeting the next alumni services director.
