POETRY CORNER: SHAKE A VETERANS HAND

Many a lad has answered the call.

and quite a few girls have gave their all.

They fought and died all over the world,

so we could worship and this flag unfurl.

So if you love freedom in this great land,

find you a veteran and shake their hand.

They never brag on what they've done,

but in my eyes they're number one.

Some boys died just last week,

way off yonder our peace to keep.

Today when you pray don't forget,

who's blood it took, this peace to get.
