I found this long-legged, scary-looking insect Nov. 19 while picking up wild pecans. The pecans were about 1 1/2-inches long. The body of this bug from head to end of abdomen is comparable to the length of the wild pecan.
The photo shows that the bug has long legs and antennae that make the bug appear much bigger and scarier.
This bug belongs to a classification of insects commonly called assassin bugs.
